Welcome to Lydford Country House, within Dartmoor's National Park, Devon

Lydford Country House was built by the celebrated artist William Widgery (1822-1893) and stands in eight acres of grounds.

People from around the world are being treated to glimpses of Dartmoors enchanting beauty by the recently released Spielberg film "War Horse" which features rural life on the moors in the early twentieth century.

The house has welcomed guests for over 100 years and is an ideal location for short breaks, romantic weekends, business travellers, or for those seeking a longer stay.
